I officially turn 17 today and i think its about time i make a new post on this blog...it hurts to type thanks to a horrible blister on my finger due to drunk people and cookies last night in Mexico...well after my prom post my mom surprised me with a gorgeous vintage Diane Von Furstenberg dress in a gorgeous pink color so i finally have a dress.

Since its mhy birthday is today i wore my gorgeous yellow layered dress for my lunch today and we're having a casino night tonight! My first outfit post i fell in love with the dress when i found it...the color and the style are perfect.

Rhinestone Studded Charmeuse or Green Washed Silk?

So I officially got asked to prom, and in the cutest way too, but i don't want the traditional prom dress...you know cleavage down to there, plunging back, rhinestones, tacky shiny bright fabrics..prom in my school is much different most girls wear nice dresses, no one goes around searching for prom dresses in my school we go looking for evening dresses, but most of the time everyone shows up with the same kind of dress or style so this year (im a junior) i can experiment with color and print unlike next year when i become a senior and can only wear white or beige so I saw this gorgeous DVF Maui Maxi Dress in a gorgeous green at Saks, it was like six sizes too big but the color was gorgeous against my tan complexion but then i saw the same style with more color on the internet...so i'm in a rut, i've yet to try the second one on but there both in a gorgeous washed silk fabric. Now if it was up to me and money or color was no object then i would definitely get this Matthew Williamson dress that's about $1,000 on Net-a-Porter but its always fun to look at

The Little Old Lady that Lived in a Shoe

Well as much as every other fashionista on the face of earth i love love love shoes...if it was up to me i would spend all my money on fabulous shoes and just walk around naked but i can't do that and i don't have enough money so i have to settle for less. Now if i had a couple thousand to throw down right now i would be running out to go buy these gorgeous (last year) Givenchy pumps worn by the fabulous Carine from French Vogue. Not only would i buy those but the gorgeous Christian Lacroix dainty heels, Givenchy bandage heels, and Guiseppe Zanotti twisted front heels in gorgeous deep purple. Some other fashionistas that have the best shoes around are Nina Garcia...pictured wearing gorgeous Marni's and Teen Vogue's accessories director wearing my favorite pair of Proenza Schouler's...now once i figure out how to earn all that money wear to store all these fabulous shoes? I'm looking for a chic carry on for travel that could also double for a handbag anyone have any suggestions?

McQueen's Little Princess

Happy Thursday everyone I'm here to bring you my #1 collection from Fashion Week...now before I get to that there's been gossip running like wildfire that an old schoolmate from our school was in Paris during fashion week and trying to sneak into the shows...of course he got kicked out but Kanye saw him and gave him an extra ticket(according to his brother) but anyways no one knew what fashion show but i looked it up and he was front row at Lanvin!! everyone at school was just like wtf but anyways i would have killed for that seat and not only that he got to sit next to Mario Testino, Carine Rotfield(the superchic editor who i'd love to meet) and Kanye West and on his facebook he has pictures with all of them and Jessica Alba...forget all the celebrities its lanvin but anyways he was a lucky guy
Now on to Alexander McQueen's once again brilliant collection...he always makes magical inspiring clothes but something about this collection that made me drool. He based it on a princess he believes came from a giant old tree in his backyard...it reminds me of the little princess with its amazing frocks and Indian style headgear and earrings(once as a school project i had to borrow an Indian sari and headgear from a Hindu friend and there absolutely breathtaking with bold colors in gorgeous chiffons and usually gold embroidery all around and a beautiful headgear to match with semiprecious stones). The collection started of with the always favorite and chic black dresses, pants and separates fit for a princess going out for a walk followed by grecian draped dresses with metallic leggings and Indian undertones and lastly it finished with gorgeous frocks fit for any princess even one from a tree made of gorgeous colored plumes with crinolines and a very art inspired dress in cream, blue and bronze with a white bubbled crinoline to poof it up. It was a gorgeous collection that sort of reminded me why I fell in love with fashion...because it is like wearing art that reflects your daydreams and feelings.

Before I give you all my #1 choice for the fall shows I bring you my spring inspiration

Monday, March 17, 2008

Alright so my second favorite collection for fall/winter was Balenciaga...even though it is almost always on the top of my list this season there is one collection that has beat it. I loved his fall collection it sort of plays on the same clothing structure as spring season but in a darker and different way.
My absolute favorite look from the collection its so artsy but not in a hippie kind of way more in a modern kind of way..Ghesquiere certainly knows how to reinvent the line every season
Once again the Balenciaga shoes are to die for i love these boots they seem to be made out of organza, very light and feminine to go along with the artsy structural look of the collection
I love this point booty its a very architectural looking heel that I would happily spend all my birthday and christmas money on a pair of these

Now on to the rest of the collection...trust Balenciaga to reinvent the little black dress in a modern sexy new way

This classic white black dress that looks different than every other white and black evening look because of the structured hip
This grey jacket and skirt are so refined and chic...its gorgeous and so understated its made out of such a gorgeous different fabric and a great structure like the rest of the collection
A very unexpected evening dress in a great structure and great fabric and a gorgeous color
It seems reminiscent of his urban tribal dress but with a twist the yellow, silver, gray, and blue mix so well and are elegantly pulled together by a black belt

Since Balenciaga came in 2nd can you guess who won 1st place? Well when i post it i think most of you will agree that in all fairness the #1 collection definitely blows #2 out of the water
